The Animated Series' Showrunner Is Aware of Fans' Season 2 Bingo Cards — And She Has Good News

The highly-awaited second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel launches on the streaming platform soon, and fan speculation has been intense.

Season 1 introduces a diverse group of personalities residing in the afterlife, pits them against each other with songs detailing their conflicts, and builds heated competitions and angsty, affectionate connections that fuel fan obsession.

The fandom's stated hopes for the new season vary widely, but certain threads emerge over and over: Will Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Will we find out more about the mysterious "deal" constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Obviously, I don't make the show with audience demands as the main goal," the creator stated recently. "However I feel like me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just inherently. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator reveals her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have received approval by the production companies, which produce the series.

That might mean fans have to wait years for some of the biggest payoffs — but they may be surprised at how quickly season 2 progresses, and how much of what they're waiting for happens now.

"I believe people are going to be highly satisfied," the creator notes. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some really amazing disclosures, some fascinating backstories, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about season 2 — especially in the form of fan bingo cards.

"I've seen a few fans create a prediction grid about the new season," she mentions. "Naturally I can't post it, but I've already completed some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on Prime Video on October 29.
